4-day stand up paddle on Siriu Lake and Stargazing

We invite you to a fascinating stand up paddle experience! What is different about this experience? You will be able to observe the meteor shower.

On the first day, you'll float quietly on your SUP through the total darkness of the lake to observe the shooting stars. It's a moment of peace and total connection with the universe that the water beneath you, the balance and the feeling of floating itself, helps us create.

On the second day, you'll take a walk on the beautiful Siriu Lake, to enjoy its turquoise waters and the surrounding sown and forested mountains on the light, strolling through the semi-sunken trees and along its narrower arms.

The third day kicks off the adrenaline rush with a rafting tour, which can be done by boat or SUP for even more adventure. We also offer the option of a hiking tour through the Glamping wilderness, on a river course that can take you to some Dacian ruins, if you walk far enough. In the evening you can listen to music and tell stories of your experiences and joys over a campfire.

What are Perseids?

Perseids in astronomy are a meteor stream released by the comet Swift Tuttle. The name Perseids has been taken up in astronomy because the meteor shower appears to come from the constellation Perseus. 

What is stargazing?

Stargazing means observing astronomical phenomena at night. To best observe a meteor shower it is very important to have as little light pollution as possible (light from nearby cities or any other source of unnatural light, even moonlight, that can interfere with the observation). This is the reason why Lake Siriu is among the best lakes in the country for stargazing, as it has absolutely no residual light from nearby towns or villages, it is very well shielded from the surrounding mountains.

Accommodation:

Accommodation is in 2-person Glamping tents, and the complex has plenty of facilities (showers, toilets, hammocks, etc). Each tent is connected to the electricity grid and thermal comfort is provided by goose down piles and electric heaters. Everything is geared towards relaxation and enjoying life, so you'll come back with your batteries recharged after a long weekend of storytelling.

• Day 1: Stargazing on SUPs on the evening of the biggest meteor shower.
• Day 2: SUP trip on Siriu Lake

• Day 4: Relaxation and departure after lunch
