What is fencing?

Looking back through time, French academician Ernest Legouve concludes: "Fencing is an exercise where man expends himself stormily and generously, feeling that he is living intensely. The blood flows tumultuously through the veins, the head is alert, the arteries vibrate, the lungs swell, the pores open."

A classic definition by Moliere considers that "fencing is the art of hitting without being hit."

In short, fencing is the art of wielding one of three weapons:

FLORET

This is a conventional weapon. The blow is delivered by thrusting and is valid when the tip strikes the opponent's body. It can have two types of handles: straight (French) and orthopedic (pistol).

SWORD

This is a conventional weapon. The blow is delivered by thrusting, but also with the edge, and is valid when the tip strikes the opponent's body, mask (head), and arms.

EPE

This is a combat weapon. The blow is delivered by thrusting and is valid when the tip strikes any area of the opponent's body.

Metaphorically speaking, the main objective of our club is to evoke a spirit of ambition to be the best, of joy in every moment that children experience through this sport. We promote the idea of patience, perseverance, and the gradual achievement of success. Children learn that they cannot just be champions and that they must live every moment of a competition, because fencing is a sport that is practiced for a long time and becomes part of them. A fundamental thing in fencing is to learn how to lose in order to enjoy winning even more, with failure becoming a lesson that helps you improve.

• A session lasts 6 hours
• The session is conducted alongside other participants
• Minimum age: 7
• Maximum age: 17
• The price shown is for 1 person. As the experience takes place in groups of at least 10 people, you can add a minimum of 10 experiences to your basket. If your group is larger than 10 people, you can add more to your shopping basket
