IOANA MIHALCEA - COACH

Ioana Mihalcea enjoys a career dedicated to dance. She was born in Vasiliu, in a family that made history in Brasov, through dance. Her father, Ioan Corneliu Vasiliu, master emeritus, her mother Marcela, folk dance instructor, her uncle and aunt Vasiliu Alexandru and Dina, first soloists of the Brasov Opera, her grandfather, church choir conductor. He made his stage debut at the age of 5, with the Poienita Ensemble, and continued his career in folklore for 20 years. She was certified by the Brasov Folk Art School, in the folklore and violin class, Ioana Mihalcea also participated in the first courses organized in Romania for the re-evaluation of ballroom dancing in 1984, thanks to which she changed her orientation towards this new style, which became established in the following years.
