During their time with Akcent (2001–2013), the group stood out by transforming from a duo into a successful boy band, with hits such as ‘Ti- am promis’ – their first top single in Romania – and “Kylie” (‘Dragoste de inchiriat’), which conquered the European charts. They also participated in the Eurovision National Selection in 2006 with the song ‘Jokero,’ which became their first number one hit on the local charts. In 2009, they recorded the super hit ‘That's My Name’, a song that conquered the charts in Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland and Romania, being released in the USA by Ultra Records and gaining global popularity. Over the years, Mihai Gruia has composed and produced songs for numerous top artists and has been involved in the launch and development of the careers of many artists who are now big names in Romanian music. For Mihai, music is not just a career, but a way to bring emotion, memories and joy into people's lives.
