Experience the hot air balloon flight near Bucharest

Would you like to live the extraordinary experience of hot air balloon rides? Our partner has more than 20 years of experience in hot air balloon activities. They have also participated in competitions and festivals dedicated to hot air balloons in the country and abroad. They represented Romania at events in Bulgaria, Germany, Rep. Moldova, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary and Ukraine. The pilot John Istrate is a licensed balloon pilot since 1998 and has more than 400 hours of free flight with ultra-light and hot air balloons of different classes, as well as more than 1000 hours of captive flights.

Experience hot air ballooning in a group of 6 participants, who can be friends, acquaintances or just partners. The actual flight lasts one hour, and the whole experience, from arrival to departure, which involves initial balloon preparation, inflation, actual flight, landing and recovery after landing, return to the take-off site and the christening ceremony, takes 3-4 hours, depending on the distance traveled.

What should you know?

• Flights usually take place in the morning, departing no later than 7:00 am or in the evening, with take-off no later than two hours before sunset 
• Ballooning is a 100% weather-dependent activity. By favorable weather conditions we mean wind speed of max 3 m/s at take-off or 6 m/s during the flight, as well as no precipitation or precipitation conditions. Relatively dry ground is preferable
• The normal flying season starts in March-April and ends in November, but that doesn't mean you can't fly in winter. What's more, in winter, due to low temperatures, flight times may be longer and take-off times (in the morning) may be later than in summer
• The flight is not recommended for pregnant women and children under 5 years of age
• The flight is organized by a qualified crew: pilot + 2 ground crew members
• You will have passenger and third party liability insurance according to EU 785/2004 regulations
• Before the experience there will be pre-flight preparation and briefing of passengers
• After landing, recovery and transportation of the passengers to the participants' take-off place is done by the ground crew
• There will be a "christening" ceremony for your first balloon flight
• Includes diplomas of honor, signed by the pilot
• Children under 14 years of age can only fly accompanied by an adult (in which case an adult package must be purchased together with the child's package) or alone, based on a notarial power of attorney (in the power of attorney, parents must give their consent for the child to fly alone).

Experience details:

• The take-off point is at the exit of Gorneni, on DN6 Buc-Alexandria
• The exit from Bucharest is Calea Rahovei or Sos. Alexandriei. The sequence of the localities is Bragadiru - Buda-Cornetu-Cornetu-Mihailesti-Gorneni. At the exit of Gorneni there is a red metal bridge and after it, on the left side of the road is the take-off point (a soccer field)
• Duration of the balloon flight: 60 minutes
• Duration of the whole experience: 3-4 hours
• The flight takes place in a group of 6 people (5 passengers + pilot)
• Experience for one person (adult or child, depending on the chosen package)
