Dear future guests, you should know this experience might spoil you for good! You may never look at a hotel the same, after this visit. We went to Hotel Daniel for a weekend just because we wanted to visit the area, but our hotel turned out to be an attraction itself. We got a warm welcoming with a tour and the history of the hotel even though it was already 10 p.m. Our host at that hour, the waiter in the hotel, managed to combine the local stories with a great Hungarian wine suggestion, we got information about the place, the village and the surrounding attractions. For the rest of the weekend we enjoyed the local craftsmen shops, Cheile Varghisului Reservation and a hot bath in the wooden tub we had in our room (room 4, first floor). We had breakfast and dinner here, all fresh, made with local ingredients. The menu is decided by the chef for every meal only after talking with every guest about specific needs (vegetarian, lactose intolerance).\nTIP: For us it wasn.t a problem, but don.t choose room 4, the only one at the first floor, it you are a light sleeper. It is right under the restaurant and might get noisy.
A great surprise near Brasov, Daniel Castle hotel confirmed me that in Romania thinks are moving in the good sense in tourism.\nCongratulations to the owners, to the designer and architect involved in giving a new chance to the old building.\nI spent a night in The Gate Room, a large one, nice arranged and very clean.\nThe dinner was prefect, a fixed three courses extremely well cooked and arranged.\nThe breakfast is rich, full of local cheese and other local specialities.\nI recommend this place to any tourist in Romania.
We stayed there for three nights, at the beginning of March, and enjoyed the Swan room, having a fireplace.\nThe gourmet dishes are exquisite, the personnel extremely friendly and eager to talk to guests, going out of their way to make you feel like a guest and not like a client. They were up to date with tourist attractions, trails and the history of the castle. The easy going atmosphere and natural interactions with the staff was the most enjoyable part of our stay.\nThe castle itself is charming, with every room having its own specific theme (we were able to see each room, even the wine cellar).\nAll in one, a perfect gateway, an experience that we sure are going to repeat.
