Your curiosity will be satisfied after these trips to Targoviste and Sinaia, where by visiting the many tourist attractions you will get closer to your own history.
The itinerary of the day will be described in the following text.
The meeting with the group attendant will take place at 06:30, and the departure at 07:00. Follow the route Bucharest-Targoviste-Sinaia.
The first stop will be in Târgovişte, a city that became, since the second half of the 14th century (ca. 1368), a secondary royal court, and in the first decade of the 15th century the main residence of the voivode Mihail ( cca. 1409-1420), son and associate at the reign of Mircea cel Bătrân (1386-1418), lord of Wallachia (Major Wallachia). From this beginning of the century, the court on the Ialomiţa valley, enhanced in its evolution by important commercial activities, as well as by certain politico-military circumstances, became, in a short time, the main residence of the sovereigns of Wallachia, a court that kept functions, with some intermittencies, until the first half of the seventeenth century.
The journey continues to Dealu Monastery, where you will spend a few minutes, a settlement that is said to have been originally founded by Mircea the Elder, but Radu the Great is the one who founded it in 1500. St. Nicholas Church, the only body architectural that has been preserved from the old ensemble, is one of the most important monuments of the Middle Ages in Wallachia.
Then follow the road to Sinaia, where you will have a break for lunch, and, after a short walk, you will visit in turn the Museum of Sinaia, Sinaia Monastery, then head to the George Enescu Memorial House. The Sinaia City Museum was opened in the Florescu-Ştirbei Palace, currently the oldest villa in the city, built in 1875. Here, guests will find pages from the city's history, they will be able to admire the aristocratic Salon, the one dedicated to personalities, sports, scouts or the natural setting. The beauty of the places and the proximity to Peles Palace determined George Enescu, from the money won in his first tour in America, to build here - between 1923 and 1926 - a house, according to his own plans, with the help of the architect Radu Dudescu, whom he named Vila Luminiş. For the next 20 years, until 1946, when he left Romania for good, in the periods between his tours in Europe and North America, he periodically returned to Sinaia to dedicate himself, at least one month a year, to creation. On this day you visit it as the George Enescu Memorial House.
After visits, return to the house on the route Sinaia - Bucharest, where you will arrive in the evening, depending on traffic.
